A U.S. Marine MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft prepares to land during civil military activities from the sea at Casiguran Port, Casiguran, May 15, 2017. The aircraft is delivering personnel and supplies for humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations. This training enables U.S. and Philippine forces to be better prepared to provide relief from the sea to remote and austere areas of the Philippines. Balikatan is an annual U.S.-Philippine bilateral military exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism and other combined military operations.
