170509-N-ME988-503 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 9, 2017) Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit spray the flight deck aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) with a fire hose during a washdown. Carter Hall, part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
