Master Gunnery Sgt. Scott Ingbretsen, explosive ordnance disposal chief with 1st EOD Company, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), commences finale roll call during Staff Sgt. Jordan Emrick’s memorial service at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Nov. 13. Final roll call is when the unit’s senior staff noncommissioned officer stands at attention and calls roll for the unit, signifying that the fallen comrade is no longer there to answer. Emrick, an EOD technician assigned to 3rd Platoon, 1st EOD Company, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), was killed Nov. 5 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
