John Lejeune, the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps, during a ceremony commemorating the 235th Marine Corps birthday aboard the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex. Essex is part of the forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is underway in the western Pacific Ocean with the embarked 31st MEU.
