Sgt. Calvin Seeley, chief instructor for 1st Combat Engineer Battalion Counter Improvised Explosive Device Class, teaches Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), about the different types of IEDs and how they are made during a Counter IED Class held at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. Instructors provide the MWSS-373 Marines with the training before they can go on convoys with the unit. During the class, Marines are also taught to use a metal detector, which they use to find a low metallic pressure plate during practical application.
