Marines with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner on picnic tables, Nov. 25. The dinner included turkey, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato pie. The Marines, who expected normal field rations, were grateful for the good meal and joy of the holiday. Many of the warriors smiled as they talked about their normal Thanksgiving traditions. Marines wished one another ‘Happy Thanksgiving,’ but they also reminded each other not to forget their brothers who were patrolling instead of enjoying the meal.
