A Chinook helicopter spins its blades before a mission in support of Operation New Dawn. The aircraft belongs to the 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, a battalion from the Enhanced Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, the Army’s last aviation brigade in Iraq. The brigade’s Chinooks played a key role in the drawdown of forces in Iraq this summer.
