Local children shake hands with former Major League Baseball players from the Dominican Republic, members of the non-governmental organization Food for the Hungry, and U.S. Air Force Col. Michael Wehmeyer, the 346th Air Expeditionary Group commander, after they were presented medals as the winning team of the afternoon game at the end of a baseball clinic the task force hosted for area children May 20, 2017, in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, as part of NEW HORIZONS 2017. The baseball clinic, organized by the task force in partnership with various non-governmental and other organizations, offered U.S. service members the opportunity to assist former major league baseball players and trainers in putting on a memorable event for 450 children, parents and other participants.
