U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (June 3, 2017) Sailors from the sales and services division (S-3) of supply department and the Commanding Officer, Capt. Eric N. Pfister, pose for a group photo celebrating a donation they made to the ship’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation department of $100,000 earned from the ship's store and vending machines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). The ship and its ready group are deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
