Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan McCarthy, from Dallas, uses a needle gun to perform corrosion control on a manually operated visual landing aid system on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Sailors aboard Ronald Reagan perform daily routine maintenance to help the ship reach its 50-year life expectancy. Ronald Reagan is currently moored in its homeport of San Diego undergoing a Compressed Incremental Availability in preparation for its upcoming deployment.
