(June 06, 2017) Members of the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) retrieve a boom used to contain a mock fuel spill near the conclusion of a joint Boom Deployment and Spill Response Exercise near Blake Island, Wash. During the exercise, responders from the Coast Guard 13th District Response and Advisory Team and USACE deployed two sections of containment boom from the M/V Puget to protect the shoreline and contain the spilled fuel, while the Navy performed open water skimming operations to recover spilled fuel.
