U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Gregory Barasch, detachment commander for the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, receives a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the 150 Airmen deployed to Kecskemet Air Base, Hungary, for their support and participation in Exercise Load Diffuser, June 8. Six nations participated in the two-week Hungarian-led multinational exercise, supported by eight different types of aircraft, that started on May 22, 2017, and focused on enhancing interoperability capabilities and skills among NATO allied and European partner air forces by conducting joint operations and air defenses to maintain joint readiness. The 180th Fighter Wing successfully flew over 120 training missions that included basic fighter maneuvers, close air support, tactical intercepts, defensive counter air, air combat maneuvers and rescue escort.
