Lance Cpl. Vidal E. Sanchez III, turret gunner with the commanding general’s personal security detachment, Security Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 15 (Forward), 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), received the Purple Heart Medal during a ceremony at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Dec. 6. Sanchez suffered a grade-three concussion during a security escort mission, Nov. 2.
