PACIFIC OCEAN (June 9, 2017) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class David Smith, assigned to the "Swift Intruders" of Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, loads a forklift into a landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52). Pearl Harbor is underway conducting a certification exercise as part of the third and final phase of qualifications for their upcoming deployment. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), and Pearl Harbor.
