LIELVARDE AIR BASE, Latvia — A U.S. Airmen from the 435th Contingency Response Group, 435th Air Group Operations Wing, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, parachutes down from a Ch-47 Chinook at Lielvarde airfield, June 10. The unit capitalizes on training opportunities as the Airmen jump from 2,500 feet, twice the normal elevation. The 435th CRG is at Lielvarde to participate in Saber Strike, a U.S. Army Europe exercise in the Baltic region. The exercise tests the capability of multiple nations to act against a threat.
