170613-N-YW024-0099 PEARL HARBOR (June 13, 2017) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) passes the guided-missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90) in Pearl Harbor. Michael Murphy is returning to its homeport, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, after a successful five-month deployment while Chafee departs for an independent deployment to the Western Pacific and South America. Michael Murphy and Chafee are both part of U.S. 3rd Fleet and U.S. Naval Surface Forces. U.S. 3rd Fleet provides realistic, relevant training necessary for an effective global Navy, working constantly with U.S. 7th Fleet in the Pacific.
