U.S. Army Maj. Gen. David Perkins, commanding general of U.S. Division-North, presents former Spc. Derek Bradshaw, with a certificate of appreciation during a ceremony at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Iraq, Wednesday, Dec. 8. Bradshaw, who was wounded in 2004, joined six other wounded service members who returned to Iraq as part of Operation Proper Exit, which provides wounded soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines a chance for closure and to leave Iraq on their own terms after sustaining injuries in combat.
