PORTLAND, Ore. (June 19, 2017) Workers from the Vigor Shipyard use a combination of sand and water to sand blast the hull of the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), June 19. This process prepares the hull for steel inspection and smooths the surface for painting. Frank Cable is in Portland, Ore. for a planned Dry-Dock Phase Maintenance Availability.
