Staff Sgt. Daniel Hanna, a law enforcement Marine with Marine Rotational Force Europe 17.1 (MRF-E), assesses a notional casualty during the combat life-saving (CLS) course final exercise June 21, 2017, in Vaernes, Norway. For the final test, Marines had to assess a casualty for injuries and follow through with all of the steps to get them safely to a higher echelon of care. The CLS class allows Marines to administer first aid to casualties in combat in the absence of a Navy corpsman. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Victoria Ross)
