Cpl. Dreshawn Smith, an aircraft ordnance technician with Marine Attack Squadron 311 (VMA-311), performs maintenance inside the cockpit of an AV-8B Harrier short take off-vertical landing jet aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), June 22, 2017. VMA-311 is the fixed-wing offensive component of the Aviation Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU partners with the Navy’s Amphibious Squadron 11 to form the amphibious component of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group.
