Marines of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, simulate taking cover and returning fire at the Las Pulgas Military Operations in Urban Terrain town, Dec. 11. The Marines of 2nd Squad were tasked with conducting a cordon-and-search and setting up security for a planned key leader engagement in the village. After receiving contact from multiple insurgents, Sgt. Michael P. Hodge, the squad leader for 2nd squad, radios the other elements of the squad to successfully eliminate the threat.
