Members of Coast Guard Safety and Security Team 91109, based in San Diego, conduct fast-rope training on the San Francisco Bay, April 25, 2017. During the training evolution, Coast Guard members descended from an Air Force 129th Rescue Wing helicopter onto the deck of the California Hornblower. Vertical insertion can be used in a variety of boarding scenarios and provides the Coast Guard with an additional tactical tool to employ in the fulfillment of law enforcement missions.
