Sweat drips off the face of U.S. Army Pfc. Gregory K. Martin, a fire control direction specialist from Pleasant Grove, Ala., assigned to Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, Task Force Panther, after a workout at Forward Operating Base Connolly in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, Dec. 22. Martin said he was attending community college and working a menial job before he joined the Army less than a year ago.
