Brig. Gen. Mamoud Safeen, commanding general, 1st Strategic Infrastructure Brigade, 4th Iraqi Army Division, hosted a three hour security conference with local village leaders at Forward Operating Base Gains Mills, Kirkuk, Iraq, Jan. 18. Safeen's 1st SIB is charged with, among other things, securing and protecting arguably the most valuable real estate in northern Iraq -- its oil fields and infrastructure, and those primary travel routes in and around that infrastructure
