Lt. Cmdr. Robert Haag, the ship's certified registered nurse anesthesiologist from San Diego, provides an oxygen mask for a patient during surgery in the operating room on board the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. The CRNA participates in every major medical operation and is responsible for providing anesthesia and monitoring patients’ heart and respiratory rates. Ronald Reagan is currently underway conducting operations in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
