PACIFIC OCEAN (July 14, 2017) - A landing craft, air cushion, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 5, approaches the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), during amphibious operations as part of a sustainment exercise. San Diego is embarked on a scheduled deployment as part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) and San Diego.
