An Afghan Air Force Mi-17 helicopter prepares for takeoff for a proficiency flight with U.S. Air Force instructors from the 444th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron at Shindand Air Base, Afghanistan, Jan. 10. Shindand AB hosts an Afghan Air Force pilot training program that is currently taught by U.S Air Force airmen, but will be turned over to the Afghan Air Force once they have enough instructor pilots.
