170715-N-XK809-062 CORAL SEA (July 15, 2017) Marines, assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), load onto landing craft air cushions (LCAC), assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, in the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as part of a large-scale amphibious assault during Talisman Saber 17. LCACs, launched from Bonhomme Richard, enable movement of the 31st MEU forces and equipment ashore in order for the MEU to complete mission objectives in tandem with Australia counterparts.
