SINGAPORE STRAIT (July 6, 2017) U.S. Navy Aviation Ordnanceman 1st Class Stephanie Shields, left, from Olathe, Kan., and U.S. Marine Sgt. Christian Vylonis, from Virginia Beach, Va., perform a nondestructive inspection on the wings of an F/A-18 E Super Hornet, from the “Blue Diamonds” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 146, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), July 6, 2017, in the Singapore Strait. Nimitz is currently on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. The U.S. Navy has patrolled the Indo-Asia Pacific routinely for more than 70 years promoting regional peace and security.
