On 24 January 2007, Marines and Sailors with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 273 and the 4th Civil Affairs Group (CAG), pass a new water filtration plant along the Euphrates River in Baghdadi, Iraq. The Marines and Sailors were returning to Al Asad after a Iraqi Women's Engagement (IWE) in Baghdadi. MWSS-273 is deployed with I Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD) in support of Operation Iraq Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market base economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
