Staff Sgt. Thomas of the 630th Clearance Company, 7th Engineer Battalion is promoted to sergeant first class during a ceremony held in the unit motor pool on Jan. 13. His wife conducted the honors. Just prior to Thomas' promotion to sergeant first class, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Carl Emperato administered the oath of office to Thomas for his re-enlistment.
