Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Johnny Rutherford is given a description of the M61 A1 Vulcan machine gun by Airman Nicholas Dewitt, aviation ordnanceman, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. Rutherford visited the deployed ship as part of the centennial celebration of the famous race and to boost the crew's morale. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility in support of maritime security operations and theater cooperation efforts.
