170720-N-DL434-125 CORAL SEA (July 20, 2017) Australian Army Left Tennant Brenton Chapman (left) and U.S. Marine 2nd Lt. Michael Diggs, assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and currently embarked on the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), discuss physical training on the hangar deck of the Royal Australian Navy amphibious assault ship HMAS Canberra (III) (L02) during a ship tour. The visit was made as part of a personnel exchange between the two amphibious ships to provide members of both ships an opportunity to learn about the professional duties and personal lives of their counterparts, further enhancing bonds that are a key tenet of Talisman Saber 17. Talisman Saber is a biennial U.S.-Australian bilateral exercise held off the coast of Australia meant to achieve interoperability and strengthen the U.S.-Australian alliance.
