ARTA BEACH, Djibouti (July 6, 2017) Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, tie down a communications antenna as part of the 24th MEU sustainment training on Arta Beach, Djibouti July 6, 2017. Marines with the 24th MEU conduct sustainment training while deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group to demonstrate their capabilities to train for extended periods of time in the field. Bataan and its ARG are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
