Corona, assigned to Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion 6th Marines, assists a fellow Marine with donning protective gear before engaging in a sparring match as part of a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) brown belt user class conducted aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) July 20, 2017. MCMAP is a 5-belt level system composed of several martial arts disciplines focusing on the enhancement of warfighters mentally and physically. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
