Fort Benning, GA – U.S. Army Marksmanship Instructor Training Group cadre, Staff Sgt. Christopher Broussard from Walnut Creek, California conducts a body position practical exercise on Mc Andrew Range for ABOLC marksmanship instructors. During the practical exercise, bone support is discussed as the first of three characteristics of a good body position. Bone support is nothing more than properly using the skeletal frame of your body to transmit the stability of the ground into your position. Artificial support is anything external to your own body that you may use to stabilize your position. Maximizing bone and sling support reduces muscle tension, which is also a characteristic.
