PACIFIC OCEAN (July 26, 2017) Staff Sgt. Troy Sorenson, a native of Hanover, Massachusetts, assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), explains the course of fire during the live-fire training exercise on the ship’s flight deck. San Diego, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th MEU, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
