NORFOLK (July 31, 2017)— Instructors observe Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Magajna, a student of Navy’s first Role 2 Light Maneuver course, as he simulates inserting an external interosseous needle. The objective of the pilot course, being held at Surface Warfare Medical Institute (SWMI) East, a detachment of Navy Medicine Operational Training Center, is to build a mobile unit equipped to set up a functioning medical area with advanced trauma life support capabilities.
