170807-N-DC385-192 CORAL SEA (Aug. 7, 2016) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Ian Divad, from Daly City, Calif., signals to an MH-60S Sea Hawk, assigned to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, as it takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, is participating in Amphibious Integration Training (AIT) with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) to increase joint capability to respond to a number of potential contingencies. AIT, taking place off the coast of and within Australia's Shoalwater Bay Training Area, will test the MEU's ability to conduct all of its core missions such as stability operations, non-combatant evacuation and disaster relief.
