Petty Officer 3rd Class Jose Canseco, aviation machinist’s mate (left), from Oceanside, Calif., and Petty Officer 3rd Class Ernesto Martinez, aviation machinist’s mate from Santa Rosa, Calif., assigned to the Argonauts of Strike Fighter Squadron 147, jack an auxiliary power unit into a F/A-18E Super Hornet in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. The auxiliary power unit acts as a startup engine for the F/A-18E Super Hornet’s main engines. Ronald Reagan is currently conducting a Joint Task Force Exercise in preparation for an upcoming deployment to the western Pacific and Central Command areas of operation.
