Two MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft sit in a hangar at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, Aug. 1, 2017. The MQ-9 Reaper is an armed, medium-altitude airframe; it's primary role is the delivery of kinetic strikes, but it is also used to collect intelligence and provide surveillance. The MQ-9 fleet of the 451st Air Expeditionary Group is maintained and operated by both active duty Airmen and contractors.
