170810-N-FA490-320 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 10, 2017) Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Christopher Lee performs a prop servicing check on an E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the Sunkings of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 116, on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Theodore Roosevelt is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
