(Aug. 4, 2017) Quartermaster 2nd Class John Gleason figures the distance from the pier aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) as the ship departs Naval Station Norfolk towards Newport News Shipyard. George Washington is undergoing a refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard.
