Comedian Bill Cosby, Ph.D., is made an honorary Chief Petty Officer in the Navy by the Ray Mabus, Secretary of the Navy, Feb. 17, at the U.S. Navy Memorial. Cosby received the honor over fifty years after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1960 where he was a medical technician in and around the National Capital Region.
