CAMP GONSALVES, OKINAWA, Japan— Sgt. Terrin Spittle sits next Sgt. John D. Brown as they start a fire Aug. 14 aboard Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan. The instructors are the Marine Corps version of ying-and-yang, balancing each other out as they instruct. They went through instructor preparation together, learning the ropes, and enduring the unforgiving conditions of the jungle alongside one another. Spittle and Brown are Jungle Warfare Training Instructors with Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine photo by Lance Cpl. Tayler P. Schwamb)
