U.S. Marines and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members disembark a MV-22 Osprey at Hokkaido, Japan, August 18, 2017, in support of Northern Viper 2017. This exercise tested the interoperability and bilateral capability of the JGSDF and U.S. Marine Corps forces to work together and provided the opportunity to conduct realistic training in an unfamiliar environment.
