Soldiers carrying the colors of the eight regiments that made up the First American Expeditionary Force during World War I form up behind the color guard, as the division’s history is read out loud, during the combined regimental lineage ceremony held outside the 1st Infantry Division headquarters building on Fort Riley, Kansas, Aug. 21, 2017. The event was the opening ceremony for Victory Week, celebrating 100 years of victory for the “Big Red One.”
