Capt. Monroe Douglas Robinson, a 1909 Harvard graduate, was the commander of Company B of the 77th Division's 302nd Ammunition Trains. The U.S.N.A appreviation on the photograph indicates that it was "National Army" unit, composed of men who were drafted and not members of the Regular Army or National Guard at the start of World War I. The 77th Division was filled mainly with New York City residents. ( Vion Joseph Dunkly Collection, New York State Military Museum)
