Samuel Clement conducts Naval Air Training and Operational Procedure Standardization (NATOPS) training with Sailors from the carrier air traffic control center aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) during a Navy-wide operational pause. The operational pause provides training and opportunities for discussion on the fundamentals of watch standing, operational risk management, personal situational awareness and more. John C. Stennis is in port training for future operations after completing its planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility five days ahead of schedule.
