The 451st Expeditionary Support Squadron at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, contains a large number of aerial porters from a variety of backgrounds. Typically a unit within a logistics readiness squadron, the aerial porters serve as one of many unique teams within the 451st ESPTS. The logistics element of the squadron contains supply, passenger terminal services, aerial porters, a traffic management office, vehicle maintenance and many more functions found in a typical logistics readiness squadron.
